WE met Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on a number of occasions but when we met him just a day after he left office and asked him how we should address him, he told us simply, “Please call me Pak Lah and, please, no Tun.”
He truly touched our hearts when he said that. There was not a single iota of ego nor any fancy airs, and this coming from the 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia speaks volume of the man’s character.
This is a man who has never uttered a cross word, a man with infinite patience, humility and love. He loves the outdoors and nature in all its glory. With Jeanne’s keen interest in protecting the environment, the Hutan Kita project in Bukit Kiara is in good hands.
